Hi, I'm Mia Brochin, Founder of Kids Interact Sharing Shirts - KISS -  and a student at Riviera Preparatory School.   In 6th grade I volunteered with my Mom to read to the first grade at Holmes Elementary and to host holiday and end of the year parties.  The first time I volunteered, I noticed the kids could use uniform polos. I told my mom I wanted to help the kids by giving them my school polos.  Nice thought but impossible my mom replies.... your polos have a Riviera Prep logo on them so you cannot hand them out.  "What is the big deal?" I said, "we can cover those logos up with a patch."  And..... KISS was born.

Lola Pegg, Quinton Pegg and Nathaniel Pegg,  have been hearing about KISS for years.  They are 6 graders at Ransom Middle  and along with their older brother Jackson, a freshman at Ransom Prep, head up the Ambassador program at Ransom. They took over when Ambassador Rachel Seipp graduated. The Peggs were our youngest Ambassadors at St. Thomas Episcopal Day School so they are experienced.

Morgan and Sydney Powell are a dynamic duo brother/sister team.  They also jumped on board the KISS team year one.  They heard about KISS and called to volunteer themselves.  Talk about luck.  They are the best volunteers any group can ask for. Morgan and Sydney are currently the Ambassadors for McGlannan School, Alexander Montessori School and Palmer Trinity School where they are amazing athletes.

Isabella Fratangelo, a Palmer Trinity student and my partner in crime for everything when we were little, got on board right away.  Isa has a huge heart and loves to help people.  One afternoon at Starbucks I was telling her my idea and we came up with the name KIDS INTERACT SHARING SHIRTS,  mainly because we liked the acronym KISS. Isa is KISS's  COO. She basically does....well everything.

Every group needs a logo - Isa and I decided - so I called my uncle who can draw and said we want something with hearts. This was the favorite of the choices he sent.  Really great don't you think?

Took us a year from when I first had the idea, to get KISS up and running. Here we are at our first distribution at Holmes Elementary.  We were nervous on opening day because we did not know what to expect.  But sooo many people showed it was amazing.  Go to the Gallery page to see all the people. About 850 polos were handed out on day 1.   Well, it was a huge success and this little guy, our first customer, left very happy.

Today,  KIDS INTERACT SHARING SHIRTS is a Florida non profit corporation, thanks to volunteers, Anna Sannia and her mom.  As of 2019, the KISS team has distributed approximately 6000 repurposed polos in three Miami-Dade County Public Schools.  We have also expanded our operations to Zanmi Beni, a children's home just outside Port Au Price Haiti. We now provide the 64 Zanmi Beni children with all of their uniform shorts and pants.
